Considered one of the accordionists with the strongest international presence within her generation, Marta Cubas Hondal (Spain, 2002) has performed in prestigious venues such as Musikverein, Konzerthaus and Ehrbar Saal in Vienna, Concert Hall in Tianjin (China), Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Palacio de Festivales in Santander, Fundación Juan March in Madrid, Quincena Musical in San Sebastián, and Spanish Embassy in Istanbul, among others.
As a soloist, she premiered Concierto Indálico by Alejandro Vivas Puig with Orquesta Metropolitana de Madrid, a work composed for her. She has also premiered the Concerto for Accordion and Orchestra by Aliaksandr Yasinski and Atlantia by Gorka Hermosa with Joven Orquesta Sinfónica Ataúlfo Argenta.
She has performed with orchestras such as the Iberian Sinfonietta, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, and La Partytura Consort, collaborating with renowned musicians including Abraham Cupeiro, Ramón Torrelledó, Salvador Vázquez, Vicent Pelechano, Silvia Sanz, Paula Sumillera, Álvaro Lozano, Edmon Levon, and Juan Paulo Gómez.
She has received awards in international competitions such as 1st Prize at Juventudes Musicales de España, 1st Prize at Intercentros Melómano, 1st Prize and Platinum Award at Classicalia, 1st Prize at BTHVN Wien Competition, 2nd Prize at Trophée Mondial de l’Accordéon, and was a finalist on RTVE’s Prodigios, among others. In 2025, she has been awarded 2nd Prize at Tianjin International Accordion Competition, 2nd Prize and Prize to Best Performance of Spanish Repertoire at “Pedro Bote” International Competition, and 2nd Prize at Arrasate International Accordion Competition. She studied with Gorka Hermosa, continued her Bachelor’s degree with Iñaki Alberdi at Musikene as an AIE scholarship holder, and completed Master’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Grzegorz Stopa.
