Ben Creed is 13 years old and attends the seventh grade at Comstock Middle School in Santa Rosa. He began playing the accordion when he was seven years old, studying under the late Mr. Guido Canevari in Santa Rosa. He now studies with Mr. Ken Chambers also of Santa Rosa. In his spare time, Ben enjoys math, computers, and working with electronics like lighting and sound equipment and carries a 4.0 grade point average. Ben would like to someday have his own recording studio. Some of his outside activities include Advanced School Band, where he plays baritone horn, flute, and accordion; Jazz Band … flute, accordion, drums, and vocal solos; marching band; church and school vocals, and many others. Ben is a member of the Redwood Empire Accordion Club where he was awarded the “Junior Achievement Award” in 1998. His many honors include: receiving the Jim Boggio scholarship; two appearances on San Francisco’s Television Morning Show, first runner up in Oscar Mayer National Talent Search II in 1996, appearance in Oscar Mayer commercial where he sang and played the accordion; first place at the Sonoma County Fair Talent Show. The Cotati Accordion Festival is proud to have this multi-talented young man appearing with us this year.
