We are waiting on the visa process for Luke Daniels, an international star with a resume that creates a lot of anticipation.
Luke has been the BBC Musician of the Year; a recipient of the PRS Music Foundation Award; and the recipient of the Palme d’Or Award for Music. He has performed at The Royal Festival Hall; the London Jazz Festival; the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall; Celtic Connections; the Philadelphia Folk Festival; and the Theatre de la Ville in Paris. All of this just so he could prepare for our annual event in downtown Cotati, Ca.
Luke is an accomplished guitarist and pianist, but he will be bringing his melodeon to our stage. His music brings back memories of David Munnely who played for us in 2020 on his diatonic button accordion. In fact, the two of them have toured and played together several times.
If you are a fan of Scottish and Irish style button accordion playing you can’t miss the chance to see Luke Daniels. We are looking forward to his visa news. I wrote my letter to the Embassy and now it’s just a process of watching the ultra slow contemporary US visa process inch its way to fruition.
