The Cotati Accordion Festival is not just a weekend of joy, great music, camaraderie and community involvement, but rather a year around community project.
The money we raise for student scholarships is used throughout the year as more students come into the accordion world and hone their craft. Musicians that play on our stage use us as a reference as they get more gigs in more cities. International artists, after playing in Cotati, take their stories of our local culture to countries around the world. And, we donate money to local nonprofit youth groups in order to help keep the local music programs and outdoor education projects thriving.
This year we are donating a total of $25,000.00 which will go to the Thomas Page Academy music program; the Rancho Cotate High School Music Program; the Penngrove Elementary School 6th Grade Outdoor Education Project; the Cotati/Rohnert Park Nursery School Co-op; and the Cotati/Rohnert Park Education Foundation. We are excited to be able to do our part to keep these organizations alive and well through the school year, and look forward to broadening our connection with them in the future..
