A lot of people are not aware of what the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors do for nonprofits in Sonoma County. The truth is that helping nonprofits is one of their core tenets. Hence, one of their tools is a fund that is set up for each district each year for nonprofit distribution. Each district supervisor is allowed to review the nonprofits in their district and determine which groups are to receive grants that year.
The Cotati Accordion Festival is in District 2, where David Rabbitt is the supervisor. Supervisor Rabbitt singled out the Cotati Accordion Festival as a recipient this past year and has already awarded another grant for the 2023 event. The total grant of these two years is $10,000.00! Thus, it goes without saying that a large reason that the Cotati Accordion Festival is able to come back each year, donate proceeds to local nonprofit youth organizations, and be the seminal community event in Cotati, is due to Supervisor Rabbitt’s support.
We want to extend a deeply felt thanks to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors and to Supervisor Rabbitt. We hope to continue to work with you on into the future.
