De Colores

Music of the Americas

De Colores performs music from all the Latin American countries, each country claiming their own unique traditional sound and genre.
The members of the group include Cristina Briano and Maria Cuevas, a duo with exceptional vocal harmonies. They are accompanied by Marie Meredith, a gifted musician who has played the accordion since she was eight years old and musician and percussion teacher, Ellen Cruz.

The group started performing in Sonoma County in 1978 and has continued to entertain their audiences in a variety of venues, including schools and universities, community events, wineries, and many other venues. Most recently, De Colores performed at Santa Rosa Junior College, the Sonoma CountyFair, and Gaia’s Garden.

De Colores’ first CD, entitled “De Colores” presents a selection of music from the different Latin America countries. Their second CD,
at the present time in process at the recording studio, is soon to be released and includes many of the groups’ favorites.
