A tidbit about 2 wonderful 2026 performs

Julia Masnicova and Marta Cubas Hondal are making attempts again at crossing the ocean  this coming August, 2026 and we will welcome them with open arms. Hopefully, their visa and travel problems will all be resolved this year.

Julia Masnicova, besides being a student of the accordion, having studied at the Conservatory in Zilina (Slovakia) and the Academy of Music in Cracow (Poland), has spread her wings performing for hit TV shows in Eastern Europe. She has been a semi-finalist in franchises of “America’s Got Talent”  in Poland, Slovakia, and Czechia. She has also been a finalist in the Cesko Sklovenska Superstar competition.

We are looking forward to her world class accordion talent , along with her equally impressive vocal talent, taking stage both days at the 2026 Cotati Accordion Festival.

Marta Cubas Hondal, from Spain, began her music studies at six years old in 2008. At 17 years old she obtained her professional title in accordion mastery from the “Jesus de Monasterio” Conservatory in Santander, Spain. Since then she has accumulated 20 awards, many in international competition.

Marta at only 12 years old had quite a year in 2014. She won First Prize in Chamber Music and 3rd Prize as a soloist at the XIV Sant Anastasi de Lledia Competition; 4th prize in the Castelfidardo international Accordion Competition; and in the XXXV Cetrament Guipuzcoano de Accordion de Arrasate in the category “up to 18”,  becoming the youngest winner in the 35 years of the competition.

In August, 2026, Marta will come to Cotati as a seasoned 24 year old performer with an ocean of experience already in her repertoire.
